Dartmouth's varsity baseball field, located in the Memorial Field athletic complex behind Alumni Gymnasium, has been named Robert A. Rolfe Field in honor of Red Rolfe '31, an outstanding baseball player as a Dartmouth undergraduate under Coach Jeff Tesreau who went on to a great career as a third baseman for the New York Yankees. Rolfe later managed the Detroit Tigers and returned to Dartmouth in 1954 to begin a 13-year tenure as director of athletics.

Rolfe retired in 1967. He recently was selected as the Yankees' outstanding third baseman of all time.
