NOT since 1958-59 have Dartmouth's athletic teams enjoyed the success they achieved in 1969-70. By the time the final putout had been made at the College World Series, Dartmouth had won 119 of 209 varsity contests for a winning percentage of .569.

The spring season saw the greatest array of triumphs as the Indians won championships in baseball and golf, reached the brink of greatness in rowing, and produced superlative efforts in track and field.
