Trustees to Meet
OCTOBER 1971

The Dartmouth Board of Trustees will hold its annual fall meeting in Hanover on October 8-9. At their meeting in April the Trustees voted to consider in October the establishment of an associated school for women at the College, but it has been decided to delay this action to a special meeting of the Board scheduled for November 20- 21. At that time the Board will also consider the question of year-round, four-term operation of the College.

The scheduling of the special November meeting will allow more time for the Trustees to receive and study the reports of the Faculty Committee on Year-Round Operation, headed by Prof. Charles T. Wood of the History Department, and the Conference Committee of Trustees and Faculty, headed by Trustee Thomas B. Curtis '32.

The ALUMNI MAGAZINE is pleased to announce two new appointments to its editorial staff: Mary B. Ross as Associate Editor and Joan L. Hier as Class Notes Editor. Robert B. Graham '40, who has been a Contributing Editor, now fills the post of Faculty Editor. Mrs. Ross has impeccable Dartmouth credentials; she is the daughter of the late Dr. Eliot Bishop '01, the wife of Robert H. Ross '38, and the mother of Robert H. Ross III '68. Mrs. Hier is the wife of Frederick L. Hier '44, Director of Public Programs for the College, and is the mother of Robert L. Hier '75. She earlier served on our editorial staff in 1967-68.
