A $50,000 grant from, the Educational Foundation of America has been received by the College in support of its multi-faceted Native American studies and activities programs. President Kemeny has stated that the funds will be shared by the Native American Studies Program, a new academic minor approved by the faculty last spring, and Native American Programs, which administers the Native American Center and special activities such as symposia and outside speakers. The studies program is open to all students.

Fifteen to twenty Native Americans have been admitted to Dartmouth each fall for the past two years and the College anticipates there will be more than 65 Native Americans enrolled by 1974. President Kemeny said the College expects to commit nearly $1million during the next four or five years to the Native American Programs, both academic and cultural, and to faculty development and scholarships.

The Educational Foundation of America gave early support to Dartmouth's renewed commitment to Native American education through a $20,000 grant for special services including a counselor and library material.
