Among the 600 present at the Americana were (l to r) class president John French '30; Governor Nelson Rockefeller '30, for whom Borella served as special adviser on labor affairs; New York Supreme Court Justice Myles Lane '28; and former New Hampshire Governor Lane Dwinell '28, who is Borella's brother-in-law. Prominent men from government, labor, and management joined in the friendly tribute. President Nixon's special assistant, George Bell, brought a message from the President. Among the speakers were Governor Rockefeller, New York State Industrial Commissioner Louis Levine, State Commerce Commissioner Neal Moylan, Attorney General Louis Lefkowitz, and President Peter Brennan of the New York State Building and Construction Trades Council, AFLCIO, who was dinner chairman and master of ceremonies. Borella, whose career has been mainly in industrial and labor relations, was hailed as having a legion of friends on both sides of the bargaining table. For 20 years he also was operating head of Rockefeller Center.
