WRESTLING
MARCH 1972

Dartmouth's wrestlers are usually the forgotten folks, primarily because their record has been dismal and there's little really to talk about.

No more. Jerry Berndt, the frosh football coach who took over the grapplers this winter, has a team with a 10-2 record on the eve of the final matches before the New Englands.

No Dartmouth wrestling team has won as many matches (the previous high was six).

Key to the success is sophomore Chuck Estin from Boulder, Colo., who has been awesome in the 190-pound division, winning 13 of 14 matches. Put him alongside Captain Bob Elliott, John Lagnese, Steve Morelli, and Ted Thompson (who missed the end of the season with a knee injury) and it's clear that the Indians have more manpower available for more positions than they've had for a long time.
