Miss Mary Paul Loomis, a 1970 Wellesley graduate, has been named assistant to Miss Ruth Adams, who will assume her duties as Vice President of the College on July 1.

Until Miss Adams completes her responsibilities as president of Wellesley, Miss Loomis will serve as liaison between the College and the new vice president and will meet informally with students, faculty, and administrators to discuss implementation of coeducation and year-round operation.

A history and Oriental studies major, Miss Loomis was president of the Wellesley student government and a member of the President's Advisory Committee. After graduation, she spent five months in Australia on an independent conservation research project. For the past seven months, she has been a staff member of the Council on Envi- ronmental Quality in Washington, D. C
