Dartmouth's 58th annual Alumni Fund campaign officially opens April 1 with a goal of $2,750,000. The 1972 drive is led by Robinson Bosworth Jr. '37, serving his second year as Fund chairman. Last year, under his leadership, the Fund set a new record with $2,464,201 contributed by 21,608 alumni, parents, and friends.
The current effort is already off to a strong start with late March totals showing some $700,000 in pre-campaign gifts and pledges from 3500 donors. This is a dollar gain of $100,000 over last year's Fund at the same date, with the number of donors being approximately the same.
During April, eight alumni meetings are being held around the nation to help launch the 1972 campaign. President Kemeny, with either Chairman Bosworth or Vice Chairman Seth Strickland '60, will speak at general alumni and class agent meetings in Boston on April 4 and New York on April 5, and then will visit the West Coast, meeting in Seattle on April 23, Los Angeles on April 25, and San Francisco on April 26.
Charles J. Zimmerman '23, chairman of the Board of Trustees, will team up with Chairman Bosworth at alumni and class agent meetings in Hanover on April 13, Cleveland on April 19, and Chicago on April 20.
