Trustee Vacancy
October 1973

A vacancy will occur in Trustee membership when the term of Thomas W. Braden '40 expires in June 1974.

Nominations for candidates to fill the vacancy are to be made by alumni of the College through the Alumni Council. Suggestions are to be submitted in writing to any of the following members of the Council's Nominating Committee:

Orodon S. Hobbs '31, chairman, Box 86, West Ossipee, N.H. 03890; Josiah Stevenson IV '57, 72 Stonebridge Road. Wilton, Conn. 06897; John H. Hatheway '48, Hoffman Road, RFD 1, Mount Kisco, N.Y. 10549; Francis T. Fenn Jr. '37, Box 9, Brownsville, Vt. 05037; Herbert L. Marx Jr. '43, 55 Park Terrace East, Apt. 34-B, New York, N.Y. 10034; John R. Shuman '52, 444 Mountain Ave., Piedmont, Cal. 94611; John G. Demas '55, 30 Warnock Dr., Westport, Conn. 06880; or J. Michael McGean '49, Secretary of the College, 206 Crosby Hall, Hanover, N.H. 03755.

After study of all candidates, the committee will submit its recommendations to the Alumni Council at the January 1974 meeting. After action, these nominations will be publicized in the Alumni Magazine. Final action of the Council will occur in June, when the nomination is transmitted to the Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees of the College is a working board, with four full-scale meetings in Hanover of the entire body each year, plus working committee assignments. Time, along with concern, wisdom, dedication, and objectivity, is a primary requisite for membership.

Alumni are urged to submit suggestions promptly, to allow the committee ample time to review carefully the qualifications of those whose names are submitted.
