Four recent alumni and six seniors have been awarded Reynolds Scholarships for graduate study next year in England, Ethiopia, Sweden, Austria, and Tanzania.

The scholarships, made possible through a bequest from the late James B. Reynolds 90, have been awarded annually since 1951 specifically for study abroad. Although they are unrestricted as to place or topic of study, applicants' plans must be approved by the Faculty Committee on Graduate Fellowships. The stipend averages about $300 a year.

The alumni recipients and the projects they will pursue are Steven C. Tourek '70, St. Paul, Minn., a former Assistant Dean of the College, a second year of law at Trinity College, Cambridge; Michael F. Coveney '71, Richmond, Ind., the first year of a Ph.D. program in limnology at the University of Lund, Sweden; Russell L. Caplan '72, Flushing, N.Y., a second year in classical studies and philosophy at Balliol College, Oxford; and Kenneth H. Godshall '72, Southampton, Pa., a second year in English Literature at Christ College, Cambridge,

Of the seniors. Max L. Epstein, Bay City, Texas, will study orchestral conducting at the Hocschule fur Musik in Vienna; Barry D. Jones, Rustburg, Va., modern history and modern languages at Oxford or Cambridge; William P. Mayer, Portsmouth, R.1., a master's program in political science, specifically on East African political development, at the University of Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania; and Gregory A. Hahn, Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., Robert G.Raynolds, Lander, Wyo., and Robert A. Wood, Houston, Texas, a joint project on Ethiopian astroblemes, or craters formed by meteoric impact.
