Sparked by the reunion classes, the 1973 Alumni Fund campaign on May 22 passed the $2-million mark in gifts and pledges from just over 12,000 donors. This put the campaign $465,000 ahead of last year on the same date, with the contributor total almost exactly even.
Two reunion classes, 1923 and 1953, have already exceeded their announced reunion goals of $150,000 and $120,000, respectively. Both classes have now indicated that they hope to reach goals of $200,000 each, virtually twice as much as previously raised by any reunion class at Dartmouth.
The 1973 campaign ends officially on June 30, by which time the Fund Committee expects that the $3-million goal will have been reached and possibly exceeded.
