Robert C. Rooke '49 of Morristown, N.J., was elected president of the General Association of Alumni of Dartmouth College at the association's annual meeting, June 9 in Hanover.
A 1950 graduate of the Tuck School, Mr. Rooke was with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith from 1950 to 1957, when he started his own investment advisory firm in Morristown. He is also chairman of the board of the Professional Insurance Company of New York.
His eldest son, Robert C. Rooke Jr., is a member of the Class of 1974. William W. Rooke '52 is his brother, Norman E. McCulloch Jr. '50 his brother-in-law.
The three new vice presidents of the association are Charles M. French '24, Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Baxter C. Prescott '39, Charleston, W. Va.; and Peter D. Williamson '58, Greenwich, Conn. J. Michael McGean '49, Secretary of the College, was reelected secretary-treasurer.
Peter H. Zischke '52 of San Francisco was elected chairman of the executive committee. The other committee members are Bertram C. French '09, Sandwich, Mass.; Enders M. Voorhees '14, New York City; Maurice R. Robinson '19, Pelham, N.Y.; Richard H. Houck '34, Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; Harald Pabst '38, Snowmass, Col.; John M. Manley '40, Scarsdale, N.Y.; James A. Block '59, Oakhurst, N.J.; Philip L. Savage '60, Oklahoma City; and Lawrence A. Gillis Jr. '69, Rumford, Maine.
