Although the month of October was the coldest in 40 years, it produced some good crisp football weather. I saw only a handful of 60's at the Princeton game sitting on the goal line in Memorial Stadium. Seth and Kathy Strickland were at this game as were Joel Alvord, Bob Kenerson, Jeff Fine and Walt Freedman and their wives.

A much larger contingent from the Class made the trip to Hanover for the Harvard game. Our executive committee meeting was held that morning in Dragon and was attended by Seth Strickland, Tom Brock, Spence Morgan, Arnie Sigler, Gene Kohn, Eric Anderson, Al Stowe, Gus Leach, Tom McBurney, Phil Kron, Max Eveleth, Bruce Clark and myself. Arnie Sigler reported that there is a comfortable balance in the class treasury which is in part attributed to the fact that Bruce Clark and Chuck Brower somehow managed to show a profit on our Reunion. The committee expressed its appreciation to Dick Harrison for his outstanding contribution as head agent during the past four years. Chairman Strickland introduced Phil Kron as our new head agent. Phil reported that our contribution last year to the Alumni Fund fell just a few dollars short of our revised goal of $60,000. Phil presented a well-prepared report on his ideas for next year's Alumni Fund campaign We are aiming for substantial increase in Par' ticipation and will start earlier this year. Your secretary requested more news and picked up a few tidbits from the executive committee. Gene Kohn arrived just in time to deliver his reports5 newsletter editor. Al Stowe, Spence Morgan and Eric Anderson were appointed tri-chairmen of Outrageous Events. Although we held fewer class activities this fall because of the preceding Reunion, interesting plans for next fall and possibly next spring are in the works. A permanent class resources committee was established to work on major gifts. Just as we were wondering how our class history was progressing, DonStoddard, our class historian, wandered into the meeting. Don is collecting bits of memorabilia in hopes of putting together something for our 25th Reunion. Max Eveleth announced that he brought his oldest daughter to Hanover for an interview with the Admissions Office. I don't believe anyone in the Class has yet become a Dartmouth freshman father.

During Harvard game weekend the Stricklands, Siglers, Stowes and Morgans were houseguests of Alex and Sally Summer at their spectacular new home at Sugarbush in Warren, Vt. Al Stowe informed me that a late night collect call to New York City should produce Mike McGinnis at the game, but I did not spot him. I did talk to Dave and Diane McEachron, Elliott and Sue Carr, and Jack Hodgson and spotted in the stands Bob Boye, Peter Schwartz, Ken Roserfield, and Ryan Ostebo. While tail- gating near the College Observatory prior to the game, I talked with Tom Ettinger who is the general manager of the book operation for Sports Illustrated and lives in Rowayton, Conn. Tom was accompanied by a photographer from the magazine, who I believe was a few years behind us at Dartmouth.

Bruce Ciark informed me that he is still self-employed helping medium-sized companies solve their financial management problems. Bruce was recently elected vice president of the board of trustees at King School, a private secondary school in Stamford, Conn., and was also elected executive officer of the cruising class fleet at Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport, Conn. Bruce and Pat race and cruise actively on Long Island Sound in a 31-foot sail boat that they acquired last August. Bruce tells me that his children are now 11 and 12 years old and well into adolescent growth pains.

We were all pleased to see Gus Leach who came to the executive committee meeting all the way from Winnipeg. Gus and Jack Hodgson and Seth Strickland are planning to meet in Vancouver on November 24th for the Grey Cup, Canada's equivalent of the Super Bowl. I received a note from some unidentified member of the executive committee that John Adams has expressed regrets that his golf and paddle tennis activities have prevented his active participation in class events, but promises with sufficient inducement to allow Pam Adams to join Outrageous Events of the Class in the future.

1 urge everyone who has not done so to pay his class dues. Remember that the Class pays for your Aiumni Magazine subscription out of dues collected.
