Essex and Morris

The Dartmouth Club of Essex and Morris had an active December in 1973. On the 9th we sponsored a recruiting session, with Coaches Jake Crouthamel and Drew Tallman meeting with 55 interested students, fathers and club members. Ward Rowley '55 arranged for the use of Allied Chemical's excellent facilities, while Tom Swartz '49, Bud Pulis '55, Bill Carter '39,Monk Bancroft '57, and Bob Hannoch '57 were instrumental in getting the large turn-out. If the demonstrated enthusiasm is any indication. Dartmouth foes beware!!

On December 27 we held our annua! Christmas "Smoker" (what do we call it now that were coed?). Again we had a good turn-out. Wayne French ’59 presided, Charlie Parton '63 gave a sound financial report, '76ers Grant Huber and Steve Shmanske (our Scholarship recipient and Student Liaison officer) provided refreshing on-campus viewpoints, Gary Johnson, assistant professor, Earth Science ("Rocks") Department, talked about off-campus study possibilities and film highlights of our '73 Ivy League football championship were shown.
