Alumni Award to Bury '27
June 1974

Roger Bury '27 "As a young Army Brat, the son of a mobile career military officer, . . . soon came to believe that the initials IBM stood for "I've Been Moved," so begins the Alumni Award citation read at Hanover Class Officers Weekend.

It goes on to mention his 42-year career with the real IBM: "While sojourning here and there in various high placed marketing capacities . . . you were most active in affairs of the College and your Class. You began soon after being graduated by serving as secretary of the Dartmouth Club of New Haven. For eight years you were class secretary and also vice president of the Class Secretaries Association for a year. In 1965 you were honored with the award Class Secretary of the Year. In additon to this important secretarial work you were an assistant class agent, a member of the local executive committee of the Third Century Fund, on the Board of Governors of the Dartmouth Club of Western Connecticut, and most active in the Dartmouth Club of New York."
