George Farrand '33 (l) received the Alumni Award from Norman McCulloch '50, former Council president at Class Officers Weekend in May.
The citation to George traced in some detail his undergraduate and Tuck School days as well as his versatility - "While busy in your business and professional careers you always found time to serve your church and community." You have been a trustee and deacon of your church, and very active in church, Red Cross, and community fund campaigns.
"Dartmouth has been a major interest. You were a regional class agent, and, from 1958 until you became president in 1973, you were the class treasurer. From 1964 to 1968 you were a member of the Alumni Council and also served as a member of the local executive committee of the Third Century Fund. You were treasurer of the Dartmough Club of New York for nine years, president for two years, and now are a director of the Club."
