The life and work of a Dartmouth student are based on the broad principle of honor, and the College demands a high standard of honesty and conduct from each of its students. In all areas of moral judgment and responsibility, the Dartmouth student is expected to embody the principles of honor, trustworthiness, and responsible behavior. These standards are expected of all students at all times, both on and off the campus.
Fundamental to the principle of independent learning is therequirement of honesty and integrity in the performance ofacademic assignments, both in the classroom and outside. Accordingly, Dartmouth operates on the principle of academichonor, without proctoring of tests and examinations. A studentwho submits work which is not her or his own forfeits the opportunity to continue at Dartmouth.
