Heading into the final month of the 1975 campaign, the Alumni Fund appears to be about on target to reach the $4 million-plus goal established last fall by the fund committee and the Alumni Council. As of May 24th, the Fund had received 12,642 gifts and pledges totaling $2,505,790, which was $337,000 ahead (although 364 donors behind) the same date last year.
A major spur to the final month's drive was the recent announcement that six alumni had combined to provide a collective challenge gift of $100,000 beyond their regular contributions to the Fund. The challenge was posed to boost the Fund toward its goal and to encourage the continuation of last year's upturn in participation. Increases over last year's contributions and gifts from non-donors in 1974 will be matched.
At Tuck School the annual giving program has produced $136,000, a new high that exceeded the goal by $11,000. More than 1,700 Tuck alumni, led by the classes of 1922, 1973, and 1974, contributed. The Tuck fund has nearly doubled in four years.
