More than 70 members of all ages of the lower Delaware Valley Dartmouth community attended the first annual family summer picnic of the Dartmouth Club of Princeton, N.J., on August 14. The outing was held at Deer Run Farm, the spacious rural spread of Amy and JayRegan '64 near Harbourton, N.J. The Saturday weather was perfect when the group gathered about mid-afternoon and continued the same for the rest of the day.
The Regans' pool was the chief attraction for the members of the very youngest generation and some of their parents. Horseshoe pitching otherwise was the main sports event, with KesterPierson '53 tossing one of the meanest shoes among the contestants. Many were content just to enjoy the views, the weather and each other's company.
The club officers, with their wives, and Jay and president Paul T. (Pete) Koenig '64 in particular, took care of the refreshments. These included plenty of soda, beer and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.
The Club is planning one event for each quarter of the coming year and the picnic was a most auspicious kickoff for the program. The next event will be a post-game cocktail party to follow the Dartmouth-Princeton football game on November 13. It will be held at the Nassau Inn in midtown-Princeton. All Dartmouth rooters and their friends are invited. Dutch treat, of course.
A large contingent of the Alumni Association of Eastern Massachusetts made the jauntto the Dartmouth-Harvard game via bus. Among those gathered outside the station areassociation president Robert Daniziger '56 and Sara (standing far right) and directorHarry Bruckner Jr. '60 and Ginny (kneeling far right).
