Below, the Bicycle Club of about 1890 ready for a spin, hardly recognizable kin to 1972 freshmen trippers at right, peddling north toward Moosilauke. At far top right, the 1888 Cardigan. Snowshoe Club seems an intrepid lot, with one of their number equipped to walk shotgun. Below, a brace of modish skiers of the '50s steel themselves for the slopes, while their latter-day counterparts at far right resemble visitors from Outer Space as they ride the lift.
