This year Dartmouth will receive approximately $l6 million in gifts from private sources, and this month the College has named a new chief of this considerable fund-raising effort, Robert J. Finney Jr. '63. As director of development, Finney will oversee the Alumni Fund, the bequest program, corporate and foundation support, and capital campaigns such as those now going on at the Medical School and Hopkins Center. He succeeds Addison Winship '42, who, as previously announced, becomes vice president for development and alumni affairs upon the retirement of George Colton '35 at the end of this month.

Finney joined the development staff in 1967 and for the past three years has been in charge of foundation support. He is also a member of the Tuck School class of 1964.
