I'm a little short of news this month. However, between a few letters, several phone calls, the National Enquirer, and Parade magazine, I was able to dig up enough news to make this column more than a one-liner.
First, congratulations to Doug and Anne Bates. Anne recently gave birth to their first child, Douglas Bradley Bates.
And Kudos for Larry Roberts, who was recently made a full vice president of the New National Bank in Boston. Larry is in Charge of one of the bank's money market departments.
Congratulations are also due to Martin It who has been promoted to the position 0f principal in the San Francisco general management consulting firm of Oatman Associates. Martin has been active with assignments in industries such as banking, transportation, manufacturing, forest products, and hospital graduation, Martin received his M B A. from Stanford. He and his wife Patricia
live in San Francisco. Closer to Boston, Ray Sansouci is currently :i student at Harvard Business School. Rumor as it that Ray has occasionally taken a break from counting the holes in his wing-tips in the B xhool library to fraternize with old Dartmouth friends.
The Donald Lavallee Professional Association of Manchester, N.H., a consulting firm with expertise in architecture, energy conservation. and interior design, has recently made Barry Brensinger a partner in the firm. Since r-.ing D.L.P.A., Barry's responsibilities have included serving as project architect for the new Manchester Skill Center and for the state headlarters for the New Hampshire Easter Seal Sw architects. A former recipient of the Marcus Heiman Award for his contribution to the arts at Dartmouth, Barry received his master's degree in architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1976.
Finally, Jon Low and Barry Grove both participated in a program at the Hop on February 22. Entitled "Not for Artists Only: Alumni Look at Careers in Art Administration," the program was designed to demonstrate the variety of careers available in the field of arts administration and to explain the background reared for such careers. Jon is currently director f -perations and finance for the fine arts division ofSotheby Parke Bernet Inc. After Dartmouth, he earned a M.P.P.M. degree from the Yale School of Organization and Management. Barry is now the managing director of the Manhattan Theater Club Inc. He has also served on the faculty of the Theater Department at the University of Rhode Island, where he was promoted to assistant professor of theater in 1975. 3-r> was president of the Dartmouth Players 45 an undergraduate.
