I was pleased to note in the newsletter of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of New York City that Ariel Halpern is serving as assistant treasurer and Dick Press as a member of the executive committee. Any other '59s active in club affairs?

A letter from Doug Wise reports that he is now based in Houston with the'Marshalk Company. After almost four great years in Japan, I am in Houston to open an office for Marshalk, the advertising agency in the Interpublic group of companies with whom I have been associated since 1965. Joanne and I will miss Japan but it is nice to be here and no recession in Houston: How sweet it is. I hope to bump into some classmates in the Texas area. Incidentally, Joanne is opening the Wise Collection, the only complete collection of contemporary art one by Japanese. Preliminary test market results are encouraging. It is nice to be back in the good old U.S.A. with the exception of the humidity and traffic in Houston!"

I received a call from Chuck Donovan, who Was recently traveling through London (where yours truly is currently assigned) on a business trip. Chuck is assistant treasurer with Union Camp Corporation in Wayne, N.J., and currently lives in Ridgewood, N.J., where he and his wife are proud parents of three children the oldest of whom is a senior at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.

By now you will have received Jack Nason's year-end summary of our executive committee's activities during 1982 and the planned events for 1983—84. To briefly summarize the highlights, 1959's showing in last year's Alumni Fund campaign showed continued improvement in both participation and dollar contributions, which were 62 per cent and $101,250 respectively. Hats off to Bill Colehower, head agent; Bob Sands, participation chairman; Peter Jaffe, Campaign and major gifts coordinator; and the 60 class members who assisted them. Looking ahead 18 months to our 25th reunion, Sam Swansen, with the assistance of Wally Stokes, is heading up a class yearbook project and will be in touch with everyone next summer to obtain biographies, photographs, and any other input relevant to what we are all up to 25 years after graduation. Van Pine continues to run very successfully our class project, which entails a series of addresses by fellow '59ers to the class of 1984, which will be graduating during our reunion. A memorial book program has been established at Baker Library as a tribute to class members who have passed away since graduation. And finally, Bob Czelusniak, who is chairing our 25th reunion, is well along on laying the plans for our reunion gathering in 1984.
