The Peace Corps has selected Dartmouth College to host one of 35 symposia held nationwide during its silver anniversary year, October 1985 - September 1986.
Dartmouth will kick off its celebration April 22 when founding director Sargent Shriver visits the campus to give a public address. On May 16-17, the College will hold a special forum with Peace Corps staff, faculty, and alumni volunteers.
The purpose of the symposium is threefold: to honor alumni who have served in the Peace Corps, to increase student awareness of the Peace Corps and other career choices for working in developing countries, and to examine Dartmouth's long-standing commitment to international understanding. The Dickey Endowment for International Understanding and the Tucker Foundation are jointly sponsoring the event.
