Dartmouths in the air. Last June Dartmouth med student Nancy Wilson joined a team researching high altitude sickness (pulmonary and cerebral edema) on Alaska's Mt. McKinley. At the 14,000-foot level she ran into Lowell Thomas Jr. '46, who runs an aviation company in Anchorage, and who had just flown a visiting Soviet scientist to the camp. In the picture at right is vacationer Chris Baldwin '74, who looked up classmate Dr. Jim Gardner, manager of Stanford University Hospital's emergency helicopter service at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
