6 Ernest Martin Hopkins was inaugurated as Dartmouth's eleventh president in 1916.

11 In 1899, Clarence G. McDavitt '00 set a Dartmouth record for the 100-yard dash: ten seconds. The current record, held by Gerry Ashworth '63 is 9.4 seconds.

14 Dartmouth Night, a tradition started by President Tucker in 1895 to bring freshman into the Dartmouth community. This year's blaze, erected by the class of '92, will rise no more than 80 tiers because of safety concerns.

15 The field hockey, men's soccer and football teams all play host to

Harvard. On the gridiron, Dartmouth has not: beaten Harvard since a 28-12 win in 1983. The class of 1982 will hold a tailgate party on the Sphinx tomb lawn.

22 Cornell is in town to play football, field hockey and soccer. Our football team's record against the Red is 42-28-1. Field hockey is ahead 7-1-1. And the men's soccer team is 20-19-3. Billy Taylor and Ramsey Lewis will perform at the Hopkins Center.

24 A public forum to be held in 105 Dartmouth Hall is titled, "The Value of Outdoor Experience."
