At last, a few letters that will help me fill this column. The first came from a member of the class of '53 looking for Charles and Jane Does. My recent printout from the College located them in Sebring, Fla., and I trust they have gotten together. Now Charles, how about bringing us up-to-date on what you are doing?

Next was a note from Ben Edmonds, who sent us the headline of U.S.A. Today Sports showing Ann Marie Kane, 23 years old, of South Portland, Maine, making a successful cross-country bicycle ride. He was sure this was a granddaughter of Killerand Marie Kane, but the Kanes advise that none of their grandchildren are over five. Don't let that discourage you, Ben, and keep the news items coming.

This was followed by a note from PaulRill, requesting that he be "found again" by Dartmouth. Paul is now living in Williamsport, Pa., and that's almost as close to being lost as living in Brooklyn, Conn. Paul and his wife spent a week with Dick Olmsted '42 and his wife in Portland, Ore., which included a Dartmouth Alumni seminar at Mt. Hood.

Finally, using my printout, I was able to locate A1 Phillips, my roommate for three years, who has been out of sight for the past 30 years. Following WW II A1 went to the University of Michigan and received a Ph.D. Since then he has taught or headed up the Spanish departments in Indiana, Austin, Texas, and Santa Barbara, where he retired with the title of emeritus. Al has also been decorated.by both the Spanish and Mexican governments for contributions to their culture. Hopefully, we can follow this up with a personal reunion in the near future.

My brothers John '38 and Fred (Doc) '39 live on the cultural side of Connecticut, but that doesn't stop us from getting together from time to time. After a few silver bullets, we have been known to rise, as if directed by Don Cobleigh, and sing to Eleazar. So Don Jones, Frank Hartman, Bill Maeck,Don McCorkindale, and you other Glee Club greats, if you would like to sing the old songs the way they were written, join us at the next Tower pow-wow. Green blazers helpful, but not mandatory.

This column is not exactly instant replay, since I am writing in early October the piece that will be in the December issue. Shirley joins me in wishing you and your families a very happy holiday season.
