Report from Boca Grande, Fla. We have found our dream vacation spot, which is a "little grass shack" just 30 feet hark from the Gulf of Mexico. Boca Grande has no traffic lights, a few stores and restaurants, and no building is over two stories high. The general store will reserve a New York Times for you and put your name on the paper for an additional fee. However, the method used in laying out the papers defies reason, and I usually have to pass through the 200-odd copies two or three times to find my own. This does give you a chance to see if Henry Kissinger or Raquel Welch is in town to help plan your social life. When I saw the name of brother SAE Dick Mayberry '44 on a paper, I attached our phone number to the paper, and then had instant communication.
Dick and Barbara bought a building lot on the island, so we introduced them to Julie and Emmett Fallon '45 who bought a lot last year, and are in the home stretch of completing their lovely new home.
Jane and Dick Kimmel came up from Marco Island and brought Marie Kane for a great weekend.
Ray and Judy Colby came over for a fine day on the beach. Judy had just returned from the West Coast where she was a finalist on Senior Jeopardy. Judy won a substantial cash award plus many other perks and prizes. Her appearance will be televised on July 12 and July 17, so be sure to have your sets on to cheer Judy on to greater heights. Chub Feeney will be glad to know that Judy tutors Jeopardy contestants at $200 per hour.
Pat and Don Crance have entered our longest-married contest with a delightful card, and I hope we will hear from others soon. Pat and Don were married August 24, 1943, at 3:30 p.m., courtesy of the U. S. Navy. Since they were stationed in Boston, they were able to round up Bob Barnum,Gail Grant, Frank Lallande, and Pat's brother Ad Winship '42. Their three daughters and one son are all married to their first spouses (some kind of a record in this day and age) and there are ten grand-children ranging in age from three months to 22 years.
I received a nice note from Mark Harty '73 who is most anxious to get more information on his uncle Donald J. Harty of our class. Don was killed in Italy in 1944 in the front lines at Anzio. Don was a member of Zeta Psi and the students Organization Council. Please send any snapshots or other information directly to Mark P. Harty, 36 Fiske Road, Wellesley, MA 02181.
I regret to report the death ofJohn JamesDanhoe in Palm Coast, Fla., on March 9.
