No wheelchair for Barney

The rumor that Karl "Barney" Thielscher '17 led last year's graduation procession in a wheelchair was greatly exaggerated, as the photo attests. Yes, he had a 92-year-old hip replaced with a brand new one last April, but by June he was walking briskly in the parade. Later in the year he was part of a barbershop quartet featuring, from left, son Dave Thielscher '54, Barney, friend Jerry Sarno '50, and Karl Jr. '52.
