Plus ca change, plus c'est lameme chose ... As the peagreeners arrived in Hanover this September, the old tunes of Cat Stevens were thinly wafting from the windows and fire escape of New Hamp. (Yes, he has a different name now, but this recording was definitely of the Cat's vintage.) The misty tendrils of early morning fog still rise from the Connecticut River's glassy surface in the early autumn, and frost still comes early global warming notwith standing. Time doesn't stand still in all respects, though. Joining the emeritus ranks of the faculty last June were teaching greats John Kemeny and Bob Huke; a new chemistry building rises behind Steele Hall; and Dartmouth finally has a woman vice president again (Lyn Hutton, VP and treasurer, formerly of USC).

The coast-to-coast rumor mill has it that one Tom Beach of California married Barbara Peterson last summer, with many Dartmouth alumni/ae present. These included David Wright, Mike Zischke, and EdyUllman, as well as assorted kids and spouses. Presumably we'll hear more about it, or at least, as usual, get scooped by newsletter editor Amy Cammann Cholnoky.

Isabel Finkbiner Bonner wrote that she recently received her master's degree in Education from Widener University, with a specialty in English and language arts. All three of her boys are in school full time this year for the first time, and she has been substitute teaching, teaching a prep course for the SAT, and serving on the Upper Providence (Pa.) Environmental Advisory Commission. She asked, "Will there be a fifteenth reunion?" (We think the appropriate response is, "Are there black flies in New Hampshire in June?")

On Bentley College (Waltham, Mass.) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics stationery, Barry Harwick wrote that he and his wife, Marcia Kelly, are the proud parents of Benjamin Kelly Harwick, born June 25. A grandfatherly gift to Ben will help ensure his parents' fitness: a new-age piece of athletic equipment, the running stroller.

Marleen and Eric Donnenfeld were visitors to Hanover this fall for Eric's 10th DMS reunion. Eric is an ophthalmologist in New York these days, for those of you who may not have kept up with the Stork. Speaking of storks, Eric and Marieen have two children: Ashley 7 and Robert 5.

In July David P. Bennett III was elected president and CEO of the Bennett Supply Co., a building products wholesale distributor. David has been with Bennett Supply for 12 years, and graduated from the Graduate School of Industrial Administration at Carnegie Mellon.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
