The October Homecoming Weekend was the scene of the 1955 fall mini-reunion and Class Executive Committee meeting. Those attending included Alexander, Ambrose, Batchelder, Bergman, Blodgett, Brady, Bronk, Buhler, Chase, Cogswell, Fanger, French, Givens, Gorton, Goss, Hall, Hastings, Parker, Perkins, Sauter, Siskind, Thompson, Woolson, and Zimmerman. In addition there were a number of wives and several undergraduate and graduate offspring present. Activities included the Dartmouth Night parade, bonfire and reception, Alumni luncheon, the victory over Yale, and the class Dinner at the Sheraton Inn on Saturday night. It was good to see several new faces this year. The Alexanders and Bradys are to be commended for organizing a fine Hanover Weekend.

The Class Executive Committee Meeting was held on Saturday morning and attended by 22 class officers and committee members. Officers' reports were presented. Among the actions taken by the committee were establishing the class goal for the 1991 Alumni Fund; the initiation of a Class Gift Committee to develop a longer-term program with coverage beyond the traditional DOC and DCAC gifts and including the Class Awards Program; a winter weekend mini-reunion in February (watch for further details); and setting class dues and voluntary gift fund contributions at the same level for next year. In that regard, please remember to send RalphSauter your current year's dues and fund contributions if you haven't already done so. We need to increase the number of classmates contributing to this worthwhile activity.

It was good to have a chance to visit with Dave Zimmerman after so many years. Dave is a doctor in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and is in family practice. He did confess to having given up the obstetrics side of the business several years ago as part of the maturing process.

During the weekend, the local newspaper carried a feature article on actress Elizabeth Perkins, the daughter of Jim Perkins. Elizabeth is starring in the recently released feature "Avalon," directed by Barry Levinson of "Rain Man" fame. She has also appeared in "About Last Night" and as Tom Hanks' girlfriend in "Big." I have now seen "Avalon" and encourage you to see it for yourself. Not only is the acting superb, but the era of the story, mainly post World War II, is a real nostalgia trip for our generation, especially if you like cars from the forties.

I ran into Dick Morris at a Tuck School luncheon in New York this past week. Dick, who has been a partner at the Arthur Anderson accounting firm in New York for many years, is in the process of retiring from public accounting. He is actively looking for another position, probably somewhere in industry. Dick is enjoying his new found freedom by spending more time at his home on Lake George, where he is to be found cruising around in his Lincoln V-8 powered Chris- Craft with automatic drive. Shades of Golden Pond!
