SANDS POINT SOULEO. From the home of Perry Como comes a different kind of song. Serving as literacy volunteer, hospital volunteer in social services, village trustee, and commissioner of water, Art Soule is too busy enjoying retirement to know that he has retired. A member of the faithful who regularly visit Whitey Mays, Art also gets to see Hank Mac Duff a bit and to hear from Don Boyle that a move to Florida is under consideration.
NICK'S KNACK. You can't keep a good man down. Nick Stronach, who traveled the globe widely and with panache over the years, has had to downshift a bit lately. Slowing down, however, is relative. He and Edie made it to Hanover with Royce and Ann Randlett for the Cornell game, where he saw George Porter. Nick also mentions seeing Andy Perkins when the latter leaves his Florida winter home and returns to summertime Cape Cod.
ON A HIGH NOTE. Clem Sandrusky still keeps up with his music, complemented by the talented Margita, who recendy gave a harpsichord concert. Clem travels as much as possible and, when contacted, had just returned from a month in France, where he had been visiting his son. Clem also contributes news that George Nichols, another frequent traveler whom he sees from time to time in Cape Cod and/or Winston-Salem, N.C., makes—and sells—mobiles. Bill Bronk is another occasionally spied.
SUBLIMINAL FLASH. '38 will be 55 in '93. Pass it along. And start planning for reunion now!
CLASS RECORD. Challenge it if you can, but you can never beat Dick Holt's performance. An unimpeachable source (Dick) avers that, excluding a couple of unavoidable lapses occasioned by a certain worldwide conflict, he has attended every Yale game since 1929. He's seen wins and he's seen losses. He likes wins better, which accounts for his delight at the outcome of this fall's contest.
On the luncheon circuit, Dick and Evelyn have been seated cross-table from fellow townsmen (people?) Dave and Faith Duffy, as well as from Fran Fenn, a '37 but a good guy.
MINI HAPPY RETURNS. Better, perhaps, happy mini returns. Last October's gathering was a smash hit, with a total of 53 classmates and wives attending. Nine others were hot to trot, but other circumstances forced them to cancel.
