Once again Mini-Reunion Chairman John Gillespie, aided and abetted by his "trainee," Clark Davis and his assistant, Donna Davis, planned and executed a busy round of class activities over Dartmout Nightweekend. The fetivities began with aptebonfire buffet gathering at the Hanover Inn, followed by a sizable class contingent marching in the parade and gathering in front of Dartmouth Hall for speeches and the bonfire. Afterwards, many classmates met again in the Hanover Inn for conviviality.

On Saturday morning President Jerry Goldstein presided over a spirited class meeting. We are fiscally sound and starting to plan for our 40th Reunion in June 1994. Herb and Ann Hillman will resume editing the class newsletter. The most-discussed topic was how best to involve wives and widows in planning and implementing activities more tuned to both genders. John Heston chairs the longrange planning committee which will concentrate on this topic, and he is ably assisted by Charlie Morrison and Tom Sayles. Contact any one of them with your imaginative ideas.

The following class members attended the meeting: Bob Adnopoz, Pete Barker, Jerry Barton, Don Berlin, Bob Berry, Dick Brace, Pete Bullis, Dick Danforth, Clark Davis, Bob Dean, Deke DesCombes, John Gillespie, Jerry Goldstein, Bill Grover, Pete Gutlon, Rick Hartman, John Heston, Herb Hillman, Mas Itabasbi, Dave and Rosemary Mandelbaum, Bruce Maclvor, Charlie Morrison, Joel Poorman, Hugh Roberts, Harry Robinson, Tom Sayles, Tom Tyler, Bill White, and Ed Winnick.

Before the game, a number of classmates gathered in Leverone Field House for Clark and Donna's famous "Maude's Old Juice." After a decisive victory over Cornell, just about everybody assembled at the Faculty Lounge at the Hopkins Center for Jerry Goldstein's presentation of class awards to Bob Berry and Herb Hillman, both richly deserved. From early in the evening until whenever, more than 60 classmates, wives, dates, and assorted friends descended on Carol and Steve Mullins's farmhouse in Norwich for a sumptuous buffet and square dance.

It was a wonderful and fun-filled weekend and I highly recommend it to all those who have not made it back to Hanover for Dartmouth Night. In addition to those who attended the class meeting, I spotted the following classmates at one or more of the events: Bob Buchanan, Lyon Greenberg, Bob Kirkpatrick, Dutch Oudheusden, Pete Ankeny, and Wayne Weil.

New champions in the grandparent department: Pete and Margie Ankeny have nine grandchildren, surpassing the McLaughlins' seven. All together, the Ankeny family counts seven members in the Dartmouth family.

And, finally, to round out die good news for this issue, Phyllis and I were fortunate to be able to welcome my five-month-old grandson, Jacob Marshall Roper, into the family over Veterans' Day weekend. My daughter Carol, son-in-law Terry, and Terry's son Jesse flew in from Pismo Beach, Calif., for Jake's christening and a family gathering.
