He practices emergency medicine, teaches theater, directs plays, and is an awardwining playwright. His play. Miss Ever's Boys, about the infamous Tuskegee study of syphilis in black men, was nominated for a Pulitzer in 1992, won the New American Play Award, and in 1991 was the second-most-produced play in American regional theater. Feldshuh is currently putting together an allwoman production of King Lear.
