Our gracious editor has requested that this month's news focus on the special accomplishments of 1953. There are many. It seems fitting that those who made that very special difference the teachers in our midst—should be acknowledged as those who give not only a greater understanding, but a more acute insight into life. This is our salute.
Dave Berry exemplified that which is best in a teacher. In the many tributes from his students, the one that captured it all was this: "Mr. Berry always had room in his heart for one more."

Howie and Connie Clery, our Classmates of the Year, have changed the academic world through their teachings on campus security. Dick Collins is dedicated to the students of Andover High School. Angus Cunningham, Ph.D. Western New Mexico University. Mario "Buzz" D'Avanzo; Ph.D. English at Queens College. He'll be forever remembered for his commentary on Robert Frost at our 40th.
