Meeting with the Russians
Back in 1959, Shepard Stone '29, director of international affairs at the Ford Foundation, thought it time to start talking to the Russians. Stone called his classmate, President John Sloan Dickey, who enthusiastically agreed to hold the first postwar Soviet-American meeting in Hanover.
