Producer Harry Ackerman '35 sired "Gunsmoke" on both radio and television. He supervised the "Jack Benny," "Ed Wynn," "Edgar Bergen," "Donna Reed," and "Paul Lynde" shows, and produced "Bewitched," "Dennis the Menace," and "Bachelor Father." He holds the all-time record for developing series: 20 in all, seven of which were on the air contemporaneously.

Dennis's dad was Harry Ackerman.
