Bob Tobey and Alice celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last fall in Florida. He still plays golf at a nine-hole course and enjoys Florida weather.
Stu Ensinger notes in his treasurer's report that we remain solvent despite loss of revenue from departed classmates. He says as many widows receive the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine as classmates, a fine expression of their loyalty to the College. Warren Butterfield M.D., formerly of Concord, N.H., lives at Hearthstone House in Mesa, Ariz. His wife, Priscilla died last August. I phoned him on his birthday and enjoyed hearing his authentic New Hampshire accent.
Gordon Colby, our head agent for the 1995 Alumni Fund, has sent out his final appeal for our support and urges us to exceed the 67-percent participation of last year. He quoted Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes on his 90th birthday, who said, "The race is over, but the work is never done while the power to work remains."
Sadly, Bob Long reports that Franchot passed away in February. Guy Bostwick died December 30 in Bradenton, Fla.
