The attorneys in our class seem to be doing quite well. Deb Karazin wrote to let us know that she is engaged to Jeff Owens '92. He asked her in March, at the Bema at twilight during light snow. Very romantic. They plan to get married in May 1996. Interestingly enough, Heidi Dollenberg (who just finished her third year at George Washington Medical School) got engaged the very same day, at the National Cathedral in D.C.! She will marry Jamie Fitzgerald (Duke '91), also next May. Doris Lee was very excited to share Deb and Heidi's great news, and wrote with some news of her own. She recently graduated from Emory University Medical School and will be staying in Atlanta for a diagnostic-radiology residency at Emory. Doris reported that Christy Park is graduating from University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis and began an internal medicine residency in Chicago in July.
Mitch Epner graduated from Harvard Law School last June and immediately began clerking for Judge Conrad Cyr of the First Court of Appeals in Bangor, Maine. Mitch reports that winter in Bangor is, most definitely, an experience far beyond winter in Hanover. Fortunately, Mitch is moving to a warmer climate: Baltimore. He will be the only law clerk forjudge Herbert N. Maletz of the District of Maryland, who sits exclusively on criminal cases. While down in D.C. recently, Mitch visited Danielle Shirley, who is living in D.C. and is a writer for the Nature Conservancy. Jay Matson is also in the capital city as an attorney at a small firm.
Jarmal Richard popped back into the chain of communication with a surprise. He's getting married to Rhonda Doma on Saturday, November 4, in Los Angeles. For further inquiries (his own words) you can call him at (310) 822-6593. Also engaged is Josh Hofheimer who recently received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and will be spending next year in New York with Lisa, his fiancee.
With the Republican revolution on the Hill well underway, Joyce Campbell has finally resurfaced. She is working for Robert Dole, from her home state of Kansas, and was noted in an article in The Hill as being a member of what has been called "the new Republican chic." Who in our class would argue with that statement when reminded of Joyce's classic, conservative, plain-black-with-pearls look?
Plans for our Fifth Reunion are in progress! If you have any ideas, or would like to help out in any way, you can contact Robyn Bryson or any other members of the class executive committee. We'd love to hear your ideas and get your input. Don't forget, Homecoming is just around the corner, October 20-21, and the game is against Colgate. Save the date!
