Crowned on her 20th birthday, November 9, Nadine Haig '97 will wear the title of Miss Black New Hampshire for the remainder of the year.
After being awarded the local prize, Haig placed as a finalist in the Miss Black U.S.A. contest,which was held in Washington, D.C., in February. As this was a scholarship contest, there was no swimsuit competition. was competing on the basis of my achievements and not the way that I looked," says Haig. A government major and Presidential scholar, she is exploring coldwar relations between Africa and the United States and hopes for a career in politics or international law.
Miss Black New Hampshire, Nadine Haig '97, may have a future in politics.
