Well, the summer is quickly passing by as I sit here writing this. The days are getting shorter and the temperature is already cooler, a reminder that tail is just around the corner. How is everyone doing? Correspondence has been a bit slow lately, so the next time you find yourself reading this column, take a minute to drop me a line and let me know how you're doing.

Ryan FitzSimons is continuing his successful entrepreneurial ways with The College Kit, a Hanover-based company that has recently attracted the attention of advertising analysts, major corporations, and college officials nationwide. The product is a multicolored 64-ounce stadium cup filled with items such as a write-on/wipe off message board, gum, a pen, deodorant, shaving cream, and cologne (registration day memories anyone?), representing corporations from 3M to Kraft to Gillette to Wendy s to Coca-Cola. The idea seems to have really taken off; last year, the College Kit's first year in business, Ryan and CraigCreelman, the company's president and chief operating officer, distributed 20,000 kits to students at four universities. This year, 175,000 students on 51 campuses received it. Having just signed another contract, Ryan and Craig can most likely count on continuing business success in the near future. Look for College Kits coming soon to a town near you.

Kim Sanderson sent a note recently from New York City, where she is working in a tiny Soho ad agency and enjoying the level of responsibility and creativity afforded by the environment of a small firm. Kim sent updates on Annie Stone and JennieTranter, with whom she traveled last Thanksgiving in Athens (it's never too late for old news). More recently, Annie spent the last year doing independent research on a Reynolds scholarship in Greece and then leading the classics FSP. Jennie also spent the year abroad studying in Berlin, Germany.

Kim also reported that she, NinaWessel, and Becca Graves trekked down to New Orleans with several others for JazzFest, where they managed to have a great time in spite of the never-ending rain. They also had a surprise chance to catch up with Leigh Elmore, who they ran into randomly in the middle of the fairgrounds. (See? That good old Dartmouth alumni bond never ceases...). I, too, had a chance Dartmouth encounter a few weeks ago in Detroit, where I happened to run into TinaCourey's brother, Jeff. Jeff also gave me an update on the New York crowd, reporting that Tina is doing great in the City, working for Goldman Sachs and learning a lot, and also spending much time with the rest of the Dartmouth folks there. Jeff also noted that he sees a lot of Dave Monaco and TomCaputo in Boston as all three are currently employed at the consulting firm, CDI. Dave and Tom, like many of us these days, seem to be well-situated in the employment world and steadily working away.

Finally, I have some personal news to note: I will be leaving in late September for Oxford, England, where I'll be studying for two years at the university in a grad school program. Both my regular and e-mail addresses will be changing, and though I don't have them yet at this early date (the ones listed below are current for the time being), please make a note of them when they do come out.
