As I write this, the autumn foliage is peaking in my part of the Northeast and the weather is glorious, but as you read this, it will be midDecember. Hope your holidays have been/will be happy, fulfilling and rewarding. The minireunion was held over the weekend of the Cornell game, October 3-5. Bob and PaulineField organized another top-notch program, a goodly number of our classmates showed up, AND Dartmouth won the game. After a buffet at die Inn on Friday evening Ed Berger, dean of the faculty, spoke informally on the curriculum changes being instituted, in particular the topical (as compared with departmental) majors. It is his feeling that these will attract only perhaps 20 to 25 percent of undergraduates. Saturday evening was spent at the Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich, Vt, where an excellent dinner was followed with a concert by an undergraduate singing group calling themselves the Aires (can you read Injunaires?). The mini concluded with a brunch on Sunday morning at the Inn. At the class meeting held on Saturday morning Phil Harmon reported our class is solvent, income just balancing outgo. Bob Ehinger introduced Michael Hanitchak '73, director of the Native American studies program, who spoke briefly, and in turn introduced the 1997 Henry Perley Eagle interns Rye Hudak and Mandalyn Begay, who described their work at the Whiteriver Elementary Arts and Crafts Camp located in Whiteriver, Ariz. Bob Gray, reunion chairman, spoke about planning for the 55 th Reunion of our class to take place June 15-17, 1998, in Hanover. He announced that Paul Young will serve as reunion treasurer, and members of the reunion committee are Tony Farrell, Pete Geer,George Graham, Dottie Lider, Bob Liming, Jim Malley, S.J., Don McCorkindale, and Vic Schermerhorn.
