A roundup by telephone (late November) of classmates and widows, found most of them still holding the fort and hoping to be part of our upcoming 70th Reunion. Burt Crandall plans to remain for the winter in Oxford to be closer to his family. Wally Wasmer and Lois reported life going on as usual on the Cape. Alice Sander enjoys visits from her daughters and the sharing of worldwide careers. As she no longer drives (as with many of us), she is grateful to some newly arrived neighbors who are shopping groceries for her.

Betty Wolf has had a few moments of excitement with the high winds and rain flooding her yard, her mail arriving by canoe to her back steps! Our class president, BillFenton, sounded very pleased at having received notice of an award for his recendy published book on the Iroquois Indians.

Gene Magenau sounded on top of things from his sunny California home with his son Roger. His history as head class agent justifies that feeling. We all owe him our deep thanks for his success in keeping our class among the top givers to the Alumni Fund.

Harrison Condon, our faithful treasurer, is planning a visit to Etna to check on yours truly, who has had a heart attack. Such an expression of friendship and concern touches me deeply. All things considered, we have much to be thankful for on this day (Thanksgiving, as I write).
