If you've ever been to a Dartmouth sporting event, you know how the fans get: Taunts to the opposition are hurled and fierce pride resounds on the playing field. Some teams, well, you just have to kick their...you know what we mean. We asked Dartmouth coaches to reveal their fiercest rivals.

"Yale is our biggest rival. We race them every year, first race of the spring. Familiarity breeds contempt."

"One of our great games is always with UNH. We call it the Granite State Championship and wow, what great battles we have had with them during my seven years as head coach. I think the record is Dartmouth six wins, UNH two. Five or six games have gone to overtime, a few went into double overtime."

Julie Dayton Field Hockey Coach

"The Softball team's biggest rival is Princeton. They have had the longest history of success in the league and are traditionally thought to be one of the cockiest teams."

"The equestrian team's biggest rival is Colby-Sawyer College. They are the most high-profile and most successful team we ride against. Our team is pretty hot if we can beat ColbySawyer at a horse show."
