Peter Roby '79 is the new athletic director of Northeastern University. The appointment follows his five-year tenure as director of the school's Center for the Study of Sport in Society.
John "Hans" Morris '80 has been named president of Visa Inc. in San Francisco, a new position created following mergers of its U.S., Canadian and international offices. Previously he had worked for 27 years at Citi, most recently as chief financial officer of markets and banking.
Rabbi Shirley idelson '85 has been named dean of the New York campus of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Most recently she was director of the colleges rabbinical school and associate dean of the New York campus.
Michel Seifer '90, a managing director at San Francisco-based real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle, has been named to one of Real Estate Forum magazine's list of "Next Generation Leaders," which selected 20 executives under the age of 40 for their negotiating abilities, leadership qualities and knowledge of the industry.
Tim Healy '91, Tu '02, co-founder and CEO of Boston-based Ener NOC, has earned an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the New England region. Ener NOC uses clean technology to help industrial and commercial customers control energy consumption.
Tracy Welch '93 is the top-ranked woman in Golf Digest's "Wall Street 150," a listing of the top golfers in finance. Welch, ranked 25 th, is vice president of institutional equity sales at Credit Suisse in Boston.
Bradford Backus '95, a researcher specializing in human hearing at University College London, won the top prize at the London Entrepreneurs Challenge 2007 for his business plan based on a portable audio speaker called Boomcube.
