It's summer vacation time. Jim Taylor, his wife, Gale, 19-year-old son Kevin and 10-year-old daughter Tanya stopped in Virginia to visit Celia and me on their way from home in Merrimack, New Hampshire, to the annual summer gathering of Gales family at the North Carolina shore. Their older son Dan had to stay in Lebanon, New Hampshire, this year to work and couldn't make the trip. Jim was the first person I met when I arrived at Dartmouth. Our respective parents were helping us carry our worldly goods from the family cars to our rooms across from each other on the fourth floor of Middle Mass. We were dormmates and fraternity brothers and we've been buddies ever since. Jim, an undergraduate math major and DOC Cabin & Trail luminary, is a programmer and analyst at Benchmark Electronics. Gale is a Linux worldwide business development manager at IBM. After raising two boys, Jim and Gale are amazed at how different that experience is with their daughter.
