125 YEARS OF FOOTBALL
Dartmouth's rich football heritage got under way with the first snap of the ball in 1881, when the team played its inaugural game, a win against Amherst. For the next century and a quarter (there were no games played in 1885) the athletes and program evolved along with the game itself—to become the College's most celebrated and high-profile team. In this special section DAM rewinds the highlight reels to celebrate our football tradition.

MEMORIAL DAY The first game at Memoirial Field was a 32-7 loss to Cornell on November 3, 1923. Dartmouth did not lose again until three years laters.
