ACHIEVEMENTS AND HONORS
Larry Dingman '60 was honored with a "tribute session" during the annual Northeastern meeting of the Geological Society of America last March. Papers were given by former colleagues and students to mark the 30 years during which the retired Dingman taught hydrology at the University of New Hampshire.
Clint Stinchcomb '89 is the new executive vice president and general manager of Discovery Emerging Networks Group—Much includes Discovery HD Theater, Discovery Times Channel and the Military Channel—based in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was most recently vice president of new media for Discovery Networks.
Dr. Robert Higgins '81, chairman of cardiovascular- thoracic surgeiy at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, has been elected president-elect of the United Network for Organ Sharing, which coordinates the nations organ transplant system.
Mark Burget '83 is the new chief conservation program officer for the Nature Conservancy based in Arlington, Virginia. Formerly the executive director of the groups California program, he wall howlead nine division's in 32 countries.
Ken Hudnut '83, a U.S. Geological Survey geophysicist based in Menlo Park, California, and leader of the Southern San Andreas Fault Evaluation Project, was named one of the 50+ Leaders to Watch by GPS World magazine.
Leah Daughtry '84, the chief of staff of the Democratic National Committee, has been appointed CEO for the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado.
A full-length play by Tara Dara Dairman '01 was accepted into the 2007 New York International Fringe Festival. PB & J, a dark comedy about two Vermont sisters whose homemade sandwich has a sinister secret ingredient, ran for five days during the August festival.
