The student group Vote Clamantis contributed to record Dartmouth student turnout in New Hampshire primary voting, transporting many new voters to the polls where same-day registration was available and hour-long lines common.
The Campaign for the Dartmouth Experience hit the $1 billion mark in mid-December. More than 65 percent of alumni have contributed toward the $1.3 billion goal.
Trustee Todd Zywicki '88 has apologized to the family of former Dartmouth president James Freedman for remarks he made during an October speech at the John William Pope Center for Higher Education in Raleigh, North Carolina. In January the board of trustees reprimandeZywicki after concluding he "had exercised poor judgment and had violated his responsibilities as a trustee," wrote board chair Ed Haldeman '70 in a letter to the Dartmouth community.
I Dr. William Green has temporarily assumed the position of dean of Dartmouth Medical School following the January resignation of Stephen Spielberg. Green is the former chair of microbiology and immunology at DMS.
Former Dartmouth golf coach Bill Johnson was honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America (CGAA) in January for his "significant contribution" to the game of golf since his retirement. The CGAA Hall of Famer now lives in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
