I'm told Hanover had considerable snow this past winter. But when you read this it will have disappeared—I think. Do you recall one of our reunions? Went down to 25 degrees in June! Enough on that subject. I'll leave it to Al Gore. Called Gene Houlihan. Couldn't talk to him but did converse with his wife, Betty. Gene is long retired and now finally gave up golf, where he was a 3 or 4. I don't print those handicaps anymore. Had considerable doubts about some scores but Gene's was the real thing. Got Hank Durham in Groton, Connecticut: Long retired, rooting for the Red Sox. We enjoyed some reminisces about 1942. Now I just learned Hank, a USAAF B-24 bombardier, was stationed only 10 miles from me in Italy during WW II. He's fine and said to give his best to all of you. Buol Hinman got some '46 ers to go to that '45 bash in Florida during March. Wrote it up in the newsletter, which you'll receive shortly. Thank you, Buol. He and Joan are now home from Venice, Florida, and back in Rome (Rome, New York, that is!). Reached out for John Murray in Clearwater, Florida. He's recovering after an unfortunate fall but says he'll recuperate and try to make the fall mini-reunion. That's October 16 to 18 and you'll be getting the details shortly. Football opponent will be Holy Cross. Phil Osberg up in Orono, Maine, long retired from teaching at the University of Maine. Phil, as you recall, was an outstanding skier and one of an elite few who majored in geology. He's writing a book on that subject. Will advise when done. With regret I must tell you of the deaths of these classmates: George A. Fagan, March 3; Donald B. Wales, April 5, 2001; Lawrence J. Jones, February 23; Charles C. Vaniman Jr., March 12; and Albert W. Martin, January 11. We extend our deepest sympathy to their families.
